Lead-Free Devices

To support worldwide initiatives to reduce the amount of lead in the environment, Altera offers lead-free versions of its industry-leading FPGAs and CPLDs. The electronics industry as a whole is working towards reducing the amount of lead in end-user equipment. This is being achieved in part through using less lead-based materials within electronic components. As the first programmable logic device (PLD) vendor to ship lead-free devices in volume, Altera is proud of its leadership role in developing these ecologically friendly products and in providing a smooth and cost-effective
transition to lead-free systems.
