Abstract: The following article provides an insight of how the 260Msps, 14-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) MAX5195 with LVPECL digital inputs fits into GSM/EDGE-based transceiver designs. The article details the exact SFDR, IMD, SNR and MTPR requirements and how the MAX5195 high-dynamic performance DAC meets these demands. The article concludes with a practical example of the DAC's 4-tone MTPR performance usually found in GSM/EDGE applications.
